The owner of Southern Tails PetSitting is Trisha Grimsley.  Trisha has always loved animals and has wanted to work with them in some capacity for years.  Her experience with animals started as a small child - she always had dogs, cats or birds to care for at home.  

 

Over the last 25 years, Trisha and her husband, Steve, have had as many as six cats and three dogs at one time.  At this time, they have two rescue dogs that Trisha found by the road in April 2008, Buddy (left) and Wally (right).

After college, Trisha worked for 25+ years in the administrative area as a secretary or assistant.  She also tried her hand at product and vending sales for a couple years. In 2002-2003, Trisha tried to start a pet resort business in Sevierville, but the banks just weren't into lending money for something that didn't have a track record in that county.  When that didn't pan out, she started a retail business in Blount County that allowed her to use her creative side, and which she put her heart and soul into for four years.

 

Her real passion was animals, so in 2007, Trisha once again decided to get into something that allowed her to work with pets.  She has been petsitting since October 2007.  "I love petsitting, and enjoy every moment I have with the pets in my care," Trisha says. "It's a dream come true to be able to work with animals for a living.  They are such a blessing to me and give me such joy."

 

Trisha is a non-smoker and non-drinker.
